From: Sherman County Board of Health
Modified Quarantine Policy
Effective immediately, when exposed to a positive COVID-19 case, if BOTH parties were wearing masks consistently and correctly during the exposure period, the Sherman County Health Department/Sherman County Health Officer will NOT require the close contact to have to quarantine.
**Masks must be at least 2 layers and made of either cloth or paper**
Close contacts, due to both parties wearing masks or other face covering, are exempted from quarantine but will need to continue to do the following:
Wear a mask while around others
Monitor themselves for 14 days for any COVID-19 symptoms
Practice social distancing
Avoid large crowds and gatherings.
The quarantine exemption includes, but is not limited to the following:
Child care centers where staff and children are able to wear masks
K-12 schools and preschools
social interactions and gatherings
Close contacts who do not meet the quarantine exception will still be required to quarantine for at least 14 days from their last exposure to the infected person. A close contact is defined as someone who has been within 6 feet of an infected person for 10 minutes or longer.
Thank you for doing your part to keep Sherman County a safe place for everyone!
